So, I recently moved to a new house with my brother and got internet again, only this time I had to get one of the fast speeds, and so far it’s been pretty consistent across all times. I have to say downloading a game in a few minutes rather then hours is nice.

So, this past weekend I was at Denver Mini Maker Faire teaching people how to pick locks at the denhac booth.

While I was there I had a few people come up to say that what we were doing was a bad thing to be doing.

I was just curious to see what other people thought about this?

So I decided to make a Raspberry Pi image for my ADS-B feeder. If you wish to contribute to my feed, all you have to do is download the image, burn it onto a SD Card and put it in a Pi, it should work fine with a B or B+, and a little modification it should work on a 2 B as well. Once you have it on a SD card and loaded into the Pi, connect a RTL-SDR dongle to it and ethernet.

Specs:
OS: Debian 8 “Jessie”
Minimum SD Card: 2 GB
Root PW: planes

I recently installed PlanePlotter from COAA to share data with FlightAware.

I got an email from COAA this morning complaining about the data my receiver was sending to them and they were very rude.

I decided to completely remove the software and vow to never install the software again, and I hope everyone that reads this does the same.

I have starting building my wardriving rig, I am using a Raspberry Pi B+ with an Alfa AWUS036H and a Parallax PMB-688 SiRF GPS.

For software I am using raspbian (netinstall for minimal install), GPSd, Kismet, and gpxlogger. I am trying to figure out a way to auto upload to WiGLE without having to do anything manually.

Next I would like to get a CW2. Pi UPS so I don’t need to worry about shutting it down before I turn the vehicle off.

So lately I have been planing around with ADS-B and because of this I have created my own Coaxial Collinear Antenna with the instructions I have found here.

I have also decided to share my data with the following entities.

I plan on increasing my coverage by placing my antenna in a good location (IE. somewhere high outside), and I would also like to add a couple more receivers in some locations around Colorado (or the rest of the world). I have also considered getting a VPS that runs Windows Server so I can run the Virtual Radar Server on a better connection (Possibly better hardware)

If you would like to see what I have so far browse over to here and check it out.

Here are a couple of pics of my current setup.
